# BaZi Chart

> Free English-language BaZi (Four Pillars) calculator at https://pillarchart.com. A birth date, time, and place are turned into a chart by published rules. The site explains the result in plain English. It is for education and entertainment, not professional, medical, legal, or financial advice.

BaZi Chart is an independent calculator. It does not offer consultations, and it does not claim a master lineage. Chart facts (pillars, hidden stems, ten gods, element counts, Day Master strength, and luck pillars when a gender is given) are computed by code. Written report chapters are checked against those facts.

## How a chart is calculated

- Engine: bazi-lichun-jieqi-tst-v1
- The BaZi year starts at Li Chun (the Sun at 315 degrees), not at Chinese New Year.
- Month pillars change at the twelve jie solar terms, from the Sun's position.
- Clock time is converted to true solar time for the birthplace: longitude, the equation of time, and daylight saving removed.
- Solar-term instants come from Astronomy Engine 2.1.19. The table runs from 1799 through 2101. The calculator accepts birth years 1800 through 2100.
- Place search uses GeoNames (CC BY 4.0) for time-zone history and coordinates.
- If the birth time is unknown, the hour pillar is omitted.
- Luck-pillar direction needs a gender. "Prefer not to say" leaves that section out.
- The day boundary defaults to 23:00.

## What the site does not claim

- No score, percentage, or verdict on a person or a relationship.
- No medical, legal, financial, or career guarantees.
- Favorable-element (喜用神) advice is off in paid reports.
- Classical texts are cited as sources for the rules, not as proof that a life event will happen.

## Day Master pages

The Day Master is the heavenly stem of the day pillar. Each page gives the classical image, the season where that stem is strongest, stem combinations, and how weak versus strong is read.
