Example charts from verified public birth data
Quick answer: These examples use verified public birth dates (including living tech leaders) you can open and check — 18 public figures in total. Each row publishes the civil date, whether an hour is known, none, or uncertain, and a source link. Open the same parameters on Find your chart and audit structure — Day Master, season, roots, Ten Gods labels, receipt, strength as labels — yourself. This hub is not celebrity fortune-telling, not a ranking of life outcomes, and not a place we invent missing birth times.
Why public figures now? Many learners want a familiar name before they cast their own chart. We only list people whose civil birth date is stable in encyclopaedia or archival sources. We still refuse scraped forum hours. Where the hour is missing, we show a three-pillar chart and link charts without a birth time.
Fictional engine fixtures (Jia strong/weak, Li Chun edges, strength demos) remain in the appendix — they power Day Master, Li Chun and strength teaching pages. They are no longer the main story here.
How we chose these figures
Selection rules for this hub:
- Civil Gregorian date confirmed in a citable public source (Nobel biographical pages, Britannica, royal.uk, White House Archives, national writer sites, government biography pages, Library of Congress name authorities, and similar).
- Hour status stated honestly as one of three English labels: known, none, or uncertain.
- No forum fill-ins. We do not copy birth times from BaZi discussion boards or astrology databases when the biographical source is silent.
- Structure only. We name Day Master / season / roots / Ten Gods labels / receipt / strength as labels. We do not assert personality, marriage, health, career success, or a favourable element (用神).
- Live engine wins. This page does not hard-code unverified four-pillar strings or strength percentages for celebrity rows. Pillars and scores come from the live engine when you open the chart.
Birth-data research for the eighteen names below is summarised from editorial verification passes (2026-10-07). Source URLs are on each row.
Calculator range (1800–2100). Open-chart links use this site's chart query (/chart?d=…&t=…&tz=…&lon=…&p=…), the same shape as methodology and the Day Master pages. t is present only when hour status is known. None, and the Bruce Lee default, omit t, so a year inside the range returns three pillars. Einstein's row includes a sourced clock time, so that link can return four pillars. Curie, Lu Xun, Sun Yat-sen and Mao Zedong have no sourced hour here: the link omits t, and the calculator returns three pillars. This page does not add further 1800–1899 examples, and it does not add hours that have no source.
For births before 1900, enter the time as it was recorded locally. Our solar-term dates for this period are accurate to within a minute.
Hour policy (known / none / uncertain)
| Status | Meaning on this page | What we show |
|---|---|---|
| known | A published clock time from a hard biographical or archival source | Suggested date + time + place for Find your chart; four pillars from the live engine |
| none | No reliable public clock time | Date + place only; three pillars; never invent noon — see /unknown-birth-time-bazi |
| uncertain | Source gives a range, not an exact minute | Default: treat as no hour (three pillars). Optional: mark the range and demo boundaries — do not invent an exact minute |
True solar time, DST and local civil time still matter when an hour is known — see true solar time and methodology.

Living tech & business (12–18)

Charts with a published hour
Use these three rows to practise receipt literacy: civil time → zone / DST → true solar minutes → pillars. Pillar strings and strength percentages are not printed in these tables.
Albert Einstein — known hour
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Albert Einstein (阿尔伯特·爱因斯坦) |
| Civil date | 1879-03-14 |
| Hour status | known — 11:30 (birth register tradition: “half past eleven”) |
| Place / zone notes | Ulm, Württemberg, Germany; treat as local mean time for Ulm in 1879 (pre-unified Central European standard — flag on the receipt). The link uses the site place list (Ulm, Europe/Berlin, lon 9.99). |
| Sources | Nobel biographical (date · place); hour tradition via birth-certificate citations, e.g. CERN record, Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek item |
| Open chart | Open in calculator with date 1879-03-14, time 11:30, place Ulm. Pillars and strength are not printed here. The birth year is inside 1800–2100, and 11:30 is the sourced hour, so the calculator returns a chart for these parameters. |
Structure drill: Name the Day Master; label other stems with the Ten Gods table; ask whether season and hidden stems support that Day Master (weak / strong).
Barack Obama — known hour
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Barack Obama (巴拉克·奥巴马) |
| Civil date | 1961-08-04 |
| Hour status | known — 19:24 (7:24 p.m.) |
| Place / zone notes | Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, USA; Hawaii Standard Time (UTC−10; Hawaiʻi typically observes no DST). Link uses the site place list (Honolulu, Pacific/Honolulu, lon −157.86). |
| Sources | White House Archives announcement; long-form PDF; Hawaiʻi DOH news release |
| Open chart | Open in calculator: 1961-08-04, 19:24, Honolulu. Pillars and strength are not printed here. The live engine receipt is authoritative. |
Elizabeth II — known hour
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Elizabeth II (伊丽莎白二世) |
| Civil date | 1926-04-21 |
| Hour status | known — 02:40 (2.40am) |
| Place / zone notes | 17 Bruton Street, Mayfair, London; British Summer Time may apply for that civil date — note BST (UTC+1) vs GMT on the receipt if the engine offers zone detail. Link uses the same London coordinates as the teaching fixtures (Europe/London, lon −0.1276). |
| Sources | The Royal Family — early life and education |
| Open chart | Open in calculator: 1926-04-21, 02:40, London. Pillars and strength are not printed here. |
Charts without a published hour
For every row below, leave time blank. You get year, month and day pillars; no hour pillar. We never fill in noon. Full policy: What three pillars can and cannot show.
Marie Curie — none
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Marie Curie / Maria Skłodowska (玛丽·居里) |
| Civil date | 1867-11-07 |
| Hour status | none |
| Place | Warsaw, Russian Empire (now Poland). Link: Europe/Warsaw, lon 21.01. |
| Source | Nobel Prize — Marie Curie facts |
| Open chart | Open in calculator: date 1867-11-07, place Warsaw, time blank. Pillars are not printed here. The birth year is inside 1800–2100. The hour is blank, so the calculator returns three pillars and does not invent an hour. |
Steve Jobs — none
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Steve Jobs (史蒂夫·乔布斯) |
| Civil date | 1955-02-24 |
| Hour status | none (authoritative public biographies do not publish a clock time) |

| Source | Biography.com |
| Open chart | Open in calculator: date 1955-02-24, San Francisco, time blank (three pillars). Do not copy hours from astrology databases. Pillars and strength are not printed here. |
Jackie Chan — none
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Jackie Chan / 成龙 (Chan Kong-sang) |
| Civil date | 1954-04-07 |
| Hour status | none |
| Place | Hong Kong. Link: Asia/Hong_Kong, lon 114.17. |
| Source | Britannica — Jackie Chan |
| Open chart | Open in calculator: 1954-04-07, Hong Kong, time blank. Pillars and strength are not printed here. |
Lu Xun — none
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Lu Xun / 鲁迅 (周树人) |
| Civil date | 1881-09-25 (often paired with lunar 光绪七年八月初三 in Chinese sources) |
| Hour status | none |
| Place | Shaoxing (then Kuaiji, Zhejiang); late Qing local time — no modern standard zone for an hour we do not have. Link uses the site place list (Shaoxing, Asia/Shanghai, lon 120.58) for the date only. |
| Source | China Writer Network (civil 1881-09-25) |
| Open chart | Open in calculator: 1881-09-25, Shaoxing, time blank. Pillars are not printed here. The birth year is inside 1800–2100. The hour is blank, so the calculator returns three pillars and does not invent an hour. |
Deng Xiaoping — none
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Deng Xiaoping / 邓小平 |
| Civil date | 1904-08-22 |
| Hour status | none |
| Place | Guang’an, Sichuan province, China. Link: Asia/Shanghai, lon 106.64. |
| Sources | Britannica; cross-check MOE portal biography reprint |
| Open chart | Open in calculator: 1904-08-22, Guang’an, time blank (three pillars). Pillars and strength are not printed here. |
Sun Yat-sen — none
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Sun Yat-sen / 孙中山 |
| Civil date | 1866-11-12 |
| Hour status | none |
| Place | Cuiheng, Xiangshan (now Zhongshan), Guangdong; late Qing local time. Link uses Zhongshan on the site place list (Asia/Shanghai, lon 113.38). |
| Sources | Britannica; Zhongshan gov. English feature |
| Notes | Mainstream civil date is stable; lunar-conversion stories can differ by locale — we follow the encyclopaedia / local-museum Gregorian date. |
| Open chart | Open in calculator: 1866-11-12, Cuiheng / Zhongshan, time blank. Pillars are not printed here. The birth year is inside 1800–2100. The hour is blank, so the calculator returns three pillars and does not invent an hour. |
Mao Zedong — none (+ educational footnote)
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Mao Zedong / 毛泽东 |
| Civil date | 1893-12-26 |
| Hour status | none (forum BaZi posts are not accepted sources) |
| Place | Shaoshan, Hunan province, China. Link: Asia/Shanghai, lon 112.52. |
| Sources | Britannica; Library of Congress name authority (1893–1976) |
| Open chart | Open in calculator: 1893-12-26, Shaoshan, time blank. Pillars and strength are not printed here. The birth year is inside 1800–2100. The hour is blank, so the calculator returns three pillars and does not invent an hour. |
Footnote — Mao Zedong: public biographical date; educational chart only. This row is a structural demo from a published biographical date, not a political reading. We list Day Master / season / roots / labels if you cast the chart yourself; we do not interpret life outcomes, character, or historical results from the pillars.
Living tech & business — all hour status none
These seven living figures illustrate the same honesty rule as Jobs or Curie: date + place, time blank. We do not scrape forum BaZi hours or astrology-database clock times. Policy: /unknown-birth-time-bazi. Pillar strings and strength percentages are not printed in these tables. Every calculator link omits t.
Elon Musk — none
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Elon Musk (埃隆·马斯克) |
| Civil date | 1971-06-28 |
| Hour status | none |
| Place | Pretoria, South Africa. Link: Africa/Johannesburg, lon 28.19. |
| Sources | Britannica Money — Elon Musk (June 28, 1971, Pretoria); cross-check Biography.com |
| Open chart | Open in calculator: date 1971-06-28, place Pretoria, time blank. Three pillars. Pillars and strength are not printed here. |
We do not use astrology-database hours (e.g. rumoured 7:30). Date only from Britannica-class sources.
Jensen Huang / 黄仁勋 — none (with caveat)
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Jensen Huang / 黄仁勋 (Jen-Hsun Huang) |
| Civil date | 1963-02-17 |
| Hour status | none |
| Place | Taiwan — city disputed (Britannica: Tainan; some other encyclopaedia pages: Taipei). Link uses Tainan on the site place list (Asia/Taipei, lon 120.21) when a city is required. |
| Sources | Britannica Money — Jensen Huang (February 17, 1963, Tainan, Taiwan); cross-check Computer History Museum profile (Tainan; year + city) |
| Open chart | Open in calculator: date 1963-02-17, place Taiwan (Tainan if the UI needs a city), time blank. Pillars and strength are not printed here. |
Footnote — Jensen Huang: birth city is disputed (Britannica Tainan vs some Taipei listings). Taiwan is the same civil time zone (UTC+8) either way, so for a no-hour three-pillar chart the city dispute has limited effect on year/month/day pillars. We still label the place honestly as Taiwan (city disputed) rather than inventing precision.
Sam Altman — none
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Sam Altman / Samuel Harris Altman (山姆·奥特曼) |
| Civil date | 1985-04-22 |
| Hour status | none |

Uncertain hour — Bruce Lee
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Bruce Lee / 李小龙 |
| Civil date | 1940-11-27 |
| Hour status | uncertain — official biography site: “hour of the Dragon, between 6 and 8 a.m.”; non-exact (not a precise minute) |
| Place / zone | Jackson Street Hospital / Chinese Hospital, San Francisco Chinatown; Pacific Time. Link: America/Los_Angeles, lon −122.42. |
| Sources | brucelee.com (date + 6–8 a.m. range); date cross-check Chinese Exclusion Files anniversary note |
| Default display | Treat as no hour — three pillars only (same honesty as /unknown-birth-time-bazi). Open in calculator with time blank. Pillars and strength are not printed here. |
| Optional demo | Range exercise only, not a verified clock: boundary at 06:00 and boundary at 08:00, with the 6–8 a.m. range labelled. Do not invent an exact minute (do not publish 07:00 as fact). |
Structure drill: Cast the default three-pillar chart first. Only then, if teaching double-hour edges, show the 06:00 / 08:00 envelope as a range exercise, not a verified clock.
How to read any row (structure checklist)
- Open Find your chart with the published date; add time only when hour status is known (or when deliberately demoing an uncertain range under caveat). The Open in calculator links above already encode that choice.
- Open the receipt: UTC instant (if timed), DST, longitude / equation-of-time minutes, solar terms, day-boundary convention (methodology).
- Name the Day Master (day stem).
- Name the season from the month branch (Five Elements).
- Ask whether the Day Master has roots among hidden stems.
- Label other stems with the Ten Gods table — labels, not character verdicts.
- Read strength as a transparent score label (weak / strong); do not turn it into a life forecast.
- If time is blank, stop at three pillars — do not invent noon.
Classroom context and reading order: Learn BaZi. Calendar edges that flip year/month: Li Chun. Late-night day ambiguity: Zi-hour day boundary.
Integrity rules for this hub
- Cite the birth-data source on every celebrity row.
- Publish hour status as known / none / uncertain — never silent.
- No scraped forum times.
- No astrology-database hours when Britannica-class sources are silent (especially living tech rows).
- No fortune-telling write-ups attached to a name (“this person succeeds because…”).
- No favourable-element (用神) output from the calculator or from this page.
- No hard-coded celebrity pillars or strength % in this markdown; trust the live engine.
- Classical quotations stay on topic pages and Classical sources, not as ornaments on a sample chart.
Paid PDF samples remain on /sample-report; they use their own documented fictional brief, separate from this hub.
Appendix — Engine teaching fixtures (fictional)
These fictional parameter sets are the fixtures already used on Day Master, Li Chun and strength pages. They are not the primary examples on this hub; they remain so students can recompute boundary lessons without needing a famous name. The cards use the existing EngineExample wiring. Pillars and strength on those cards are computed from the registered inputs; they are not the celebrity rows above.

FAQ
Why use celebrities now instead of only fictional people?
Verified civil dates let learners recognise a name while still auditing structure. Every celebrity row still publishes sources and hour status. Fictional fixtures stay in the appendix for engine teaching.
Why still no scraped forum times?
Forum and astrology-database hours are often unsourced or conflicting. Publishing them would create false precision. Prefer three honest pillars over one fictional hour — /unknown-birth-time-bazi. Living tech rows (Musk and peers) follow the same rule.
Do examples use true solar time?
When a place and time are supplied, production defaults apply (true solar time). Appendix A/B/C fixtures are documented with that pipeline on their teaching pages.
Can I put my own chart in this list?
Not publicly from the form. This page is editorial examples. Your chart stays on /chart for you; accounts can save charts without publishing them here.
Will more figures appear later?
Only if civil dates (and hour status) meet the same verification bar. Disputed ancient dates (for example Confucius / Mencius / Zhuge Liang birthday traditions) stay off this hub. Living candidates without Britannica-class (or equivalent) civil dates stay off until verified.
What about paid samples?
/sample-report uses a separate documented fictional brief. Do not mix that brief with the eighteen biographical rows above.
